Abstract
⺠Application of LBNP results in central hypovolemia. ⺠Hypovolemia leads to a reduction in microcirculatory density and perfusion. ⺠Decreased microcirculation is associated with decreased tissue oxygenation. ⺠Tissue oxygen consumption is unaffected during compensated hypovolemia.
