Abstract
► Application of LBNP results in central hypovolemia. ► Hypovolemia leads to a reduction in microcirculatory density and perfusion. ► Decreased microcirculation is associated with decreased tissue oxygenation. ► Tissue oxygen consumption is unaffected during compensated hypovolemia.
