Abstract
⺠The model aims at describing tumour growth in a dorsal skinfold chamber. ⺠The oxygen field cannot be described accurately without the submicrovascular network. ⺠Angiogenesis from the submicrovascular network does not accelerate tumour growth. ⺠The collapse of capillaries has to be integrated to reflect tumour hypoxia. ⺠The submicrovascular network is essential for modelling tumour growth.
