Abstract
⺠Flow separation can result in spatial variations of the arteriolar cell-free layer. ⺠The layer formation is attenuated in parent vessel close to the bifurcation. ⺠Large asymmetries of the layer form between opposite sides of downstream vessel. ⺠A thicker cell-free layer in parent vessel leads to more prominent downstream layer formation. ⺠Increased flow fraction into side branch decreases corresponding layer formation.
