Abstract
► An Aβ42-GFP fusion misfolds in transgenic plant cells and loses fluorescence. ► An Aβ42-HPTII fusion misfolds in plant cells with a loss of hygromycin resistance. ► A missense Aβ42 to replace Aβ42 rescues the functionality of the fusion proteins. ► Known anti-Aβ42-aggregation agents restore GFP fluorescence/hygromycin resistance. ► The system can serve to screen for inhibitors of Aβ42 misfolding (AD therapeutics).
