Abstract
⺠The nitrosyl ruthenium complex [Ru(terpy)(bdq)NO+]3+ (TERPY) is a NO donor. ⺠The hypotensive effect of TERPY was slow and long lasting. ⺠The hypotensive response evoked by TERPY did not lead to reflex tachycardia. ⺠The relaxation induced by TERPY is similar in Wistar and SHR aortic rings. ⺠TERPY releases similar amounts of NO in Wistar and SHR aorta.
