Abstract
⺠Nitroglycerin/glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) has been used for over 140 years. ⺠Mechanism of action remains unknown. ⺠GTN metabolizes to 1,2-GDN and nitrite anion. ⺠Nitrite anion derived from GTN does not produce nitric oxide.
