Abstract
⺠Nitrones are able to release significant amounts of nitric oxide in vitro. ⺠Release of nitric oxide takes place under hydroxyl radical attack. ⺠Sources of hydroxyl radical were: UV irradiated water or Fenton reagent. ⺠Dose dependence of release is not linear but asymptotic showing a self limiting effect.
