Abstract
⺠LPS reduces plasma acyl ghrelin and desacyl ghrelin levels. ⺠In contrast, circulating nesfatin-1 is increased. ⺠Increased nesfatin-1 levels under these conditions are likely to be stomach derived. ⺠These data highlight the differential regulation of ghrelin and nesfatin-1. ⺠Decreased ghrelin and increased nesfatin-1 likely contribute to the LPS-induced anorexia.
