Abstract
⺠Ghrelin receptor agonists act as prokinetics in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. ⺠Ghrelin mimetics may be useful in treating GI dysmotility by accelerating transit. ⺠Evidence supports ghrelin agonists in treating gastroparesis and postoperative ileus. ⺠Further investigation may support ghrelin agonists for functional bowel disorders.
