Abstract
⺠We studied the effect of Ghrelin (Ghr) upon the release of 5-HT in hippocampus. ⺠We used hippocampal slices pre-changed with [3H]5-HT. ⺠The presence of Ghr in the superfusion medium decreases the release of 5-HT. ⺠The in vivo intra-hippocampal administration of Ghr decreases the neurotransmitters release. ⺠Ghr as well as other peptides could modulate the release of neurotransmitters.
