Abstract
► Ghrelin administration does not elicit any thermoregulatory effect during euthermia. ► LPS fever is accompanied by increased plasma corticosterone and preoptic PGE2 levels. ► Ghrelin attenuates LPS fever, further increases corticosterone and decreases PGE2. ► Ghrelin effect on PGE2 seems to be directly mediated (independent of corticosterone). ► Ghrelin modulates mechanisms underlying immune-inflammatory challenge.
