Abstract
⺠Ghrelin administration does not elicit any thermoregulatory effect during euthermia. ⺠LPS fever is accompanied by increased plasma corticosterone and preoptic PGE2 levels. ⺠Ghrelin attenuates LPS fever, further increases corticosterone and decreases PGE2. ⺠Ghrelin effect on PGE2 seems to be directly mediated (independent of corticosterone). ⺠Ghrelin modulates mechanisms underlying immune-inflammatory challenge.
