Abstract
⺠We examine the effects of adipokine apelin treatment on ER stress in the pancreas of Akita mice. ⺠Apelin treatment down-regulates IRE1α and PERK pathways. ⺠Apelin shows beneficial effects on the pancreatic islet mass and insulin content.
