Abstract
- New antifungal protein (NFAP) and its encoding gene were isolated and characterized.
- This small, basic and cysteine-rich protein is homologous to similar proteins.
- NFAP exhibited growth inhibitory activity against filamentous fungi.
- The protein maintained its activity within broad pH and temperature ranges.
