Abstract
⺠Cnestis ferruginea extract and its constituent ⺠Amentoflavone reduced time of immobility in forced swim and tail suspension test. ⺠Amentoflavone increased number of head-dips and time spent in open arms. ⺠Extract devoid of neurological deficit ⺠Anti-immobility effect of amentoflavone was reversed by 5-HT2, α1- and α2-adrenoceptors antagonist pretreatment. ⺠Anxiolytic effect of amentoflavone was reversed by flumazenil pretreatment.
