Abstract
⺠Animal models enable the study of the underlying neurobiological mechanisms of human disorders. ⺠Neonatal treatment with a kainate receptor agonist altered adult rat behviour. ⺠Alterations in PPI and latent LI were found. ⺠Results suggest this paradigm has potential as a novel animal model of schizophrenia.
