Abstract
► Buspirone induces repetitive vicarious trial and error behavior in a baited T-maze. ► Unlike 8-OH-DPAT, buspirone does not cause repetition (perseveration). ► Adolescent Long-Evans rats are insensitive to buspirone. ► Adolescent Long-Evans rats have normal levels of 5-HT-1A receptor expression. ► The response to buspirone is independent of 5-HT-1A receptor.
