Abstract
► Blockade of CRF1 receptors in the CeA attenuates nicotine withdrawal in rats. ► CRF in the CeA plays a role in the dysphoria associated with nicotine withdrawal. ► Blockade of α1-adrenergic receptors in the CeA does not affect nicotine withdrawal. ► Stimulation of α2-adrenergic receptors in the CeA does not affect nicotine withdrawal.
