Abstract
► We examined the role of glutamate in alcohol seeking behavior. ► MTEP was microinjected into NAc core and basolateral amygdala prior to reinstatement. ► MTEP significantly reduced alcohol-seeking behavior. ► Glutamate transmission in these regions may underlie cue-induced relapse behavior.
