Abstract
⺠Anxiety disorders are more prevalent in females. ⺠Metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs) are linked to anxiety. ⺠We examined the role of amygdala group I mGluR in ovariectomized rats with and without estradiol replacement in female anxiety. ⺠Activation of amygdala group I mGluRs in estradiol-treated rats produces anxiolytic-like effects.
