Abstract
⺠We tested how alternative reinforcer response cost impacts methamphetamine choice. ⺠Methamphetamine functioned as a positive reinforcer. ⺠Drug choice increased with higher alternative reinforcer response cost. ⺠Changes in response cost impacted placebo choice more than methamphetamine choice. ⺠Manipulating alternative reinforcer response cost could alter methamphetamine use.
