Abstract
⺠Mephedrone and methylone are new cathinone-derivative designer drugs. ⺠We investigated the neurochemical and behavioral effects of these drugs in rodents. ⺠Methylone reduced serotonin levels in rats whereas mephedrone produced no change. ⺠Mephedrone reduced working memory performance of mice in T-maze. ⺠In rodents, both biochemical and behavioral gauges of neural function are affected.
