Abstract
⺠Heroin withdrawal is associated with hyperalgesia and anxiety-like behaviour. ⺠Hyperalgesia and anxiety-like behaviour related to withdrawal are polyamine-dependent. ⺠A polyamine-deficient diet opposes hyperalgesia and anxiety-like behaviour. ⺠A polyamine-deficient diet does not induce appreciable side-effects. ⺠A polyamine-deficient diet could be a new strategy for the heroin withdrawal relief.
