Abstract
► 361 genes were differentially regulated in FSL (“depressed”) and control rats. ► Adipocytokine genes were dysregulated in the “depressed” rats. ► In humans anxiety and depressive symptoms correlated with adiponectin levels. ► Dysregulation of adipocytokine signaling may contribute to depressive-like behavior.
