Abstract
⺠The LEW and F344 inbred rat strains differ in their reactivity to drugs of abuse. ⺠This study examined caffeine's ability to induce taste aversion in both strains. ⺠Caffeine induced strain-dependent taste aversion at 18 mg/kg. ⺠Caffeine increased activity in both strains with no strain differences. ⺠These data extend the range of drugs on which the LEW and F344 strains differ.
