Abstract
⺠Assessed whether social isolation (SI) & MK-801 would create a robust animal model of SZ. ⺠Assessed locomotor activity, GAT-1 & GABAA receptors in the frontal cortex and hipp. ⺠SI increased activity, GAT-1 & GABAA receptor activity in the frontal cortex. ⺠MK-801 increased GABAA receptor activity in the hippocampus. ⺠SI & MK-801 may act through different mechanisms.
