Abstract
⺠We investigated the effect of agmatine in animal models of schizophrenia. ⺠Agmatine blocked conditioned avoidance response in rats. ⺠Agmatine attenuated apomorphine induced climbing in mice.⺠Agmatine diminished hyperlocomotor activity induced by psychostimulants. ⺠Our results project agmatine as novel approach in the treatment of schizophrenia.
