Abstract
⺠Asiaticoside has a potent neuroprotective effect in a rat model of parkinsonism. ⺠It improves MPTP-induced impairment of locomotor in rats. ⺠It attenuates the MPTP-induced reduction of dopamine in the striatum. ⺠It maintains redox balance and up-regulates the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax for its activity.
