Abstract
⺠α7 nicotinic receptor agonism enhances the effect of antidepressant drugs in mice. ⺠Behavioural and biochemical effects of SSR180711 and PNU-282987 were compared. ⺠SSR180711, but not PNU-282907, induced antidepressant-like effects in mice. ⺠Behaviourally effective doses of SSR180711 partially inhibited serotonin reuptake. ⺠SSR180711 represents the synergy of α7 nAChRs agonism and serotonin uptake inhibition.
