Abstract
⺠The role of central noradrenergic neurons in depression was reexamined in mice. ⺠Lesions with ivt DSP4 or DBH-SAP reduced depression and increased motor activity. ⺠Lesion effects were greatest with partial LC destruction plus damage to 5HT system. ⺠Results support a depressant behavioral role for brainstem monoaminergic neurons.
