► The effect of the AOPCP on NPS-induced hyperlocomotion was tested. ► The AOPCP blocks the NPS-induced hyperlocomotion. ► The NPS injected in vivo did not alter the ecto-nucleotidase activities. ► NPS-induced hyperlocomotion dependent on the ecto-nucleotidase activities.
