Abstract
⺠We demonstrated for the first time that the beneficial effects of GP on the corpus callosum and optic tract of BBCAO rats. ⺠Our findings indicated that the beneficial effects of GP on hypoperfusion-induced cognitive deficits may be due to inhibiting oxidative damage, markedly scavenging oxygen free radicals, and reducing the number of activated astrocytes and axonal damage in the corpus callosum and optic tract of BBCAO rats. ⺠The results suggest that GP may be a potential new anti-dementia agent under further evaluation.
