âºMC3/MC4 receptor agonist MTII in amygdala decreases alcohol intake. âºMC3/MC4 receptor antagonist SHU9119 also reduces alcohol intake. âºAmygdala SHU9119 effect is prolonged when hyperphagia is prevented. âºAmygdala SHU9119 increases water intake independent of food intake.
