Abstract
⺠Contextual- and cue-induced freezing was severely impaired in soman-exposed rats that had seized. ⺠Neuronal fiber degeneration resulting from soman-induced seizures occurred in the piriform cortex, thalamus, and amygdala. Less severe damage was observed in the ventral hippocampus. ⺠Contextual and cued fear conditioning is impaired in GD-exposed rats possibly due to neuropathology observed in the hippocampus, amygdala and thalamus.
