Abstract
⺠Harmane, harmine and norharmane are β-carboline compounds. ⺠Effect of these compounds on apomorphine-induced licking was studied in rats. ⺠Harmane, harmine and norharmane significantly reduced the licking behavior. ⺠The effects were prevented in rats treated by flumazenil but not by reserpine. ⺠The results indicated an involvement of benzodiazepinergic system.
