Abstract
► Chronic inflammatory pain did not attenuate tolerance to chronic morphine. ► Animals with inflammatory pain showed tolerance to all morphine doses used. ► Animals without inflammatory pain showed tolerance in a dose-dependent manner. ► Threshold data indicated that the analgesic effect of morphine decreased over time.
