Abstract
⺠One form of porcine β defensin 1 (pBD142) gene was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. ⺠The recombinant pBD142 was purified by His tag affinity column with 90% purity. ⺠The purified recombinant pBD142 had antimicrobial activity against bacteria. ⺠The purified recombinant pBD142 showed low hemolytic activity. ⺠The expressed recombinant pBD142 showed high thermal stability.
