Abstract
⺠Methyl-β-cyclodextrin (MCD) extracts prenylated enzymes from retinal disc membranes. ⺠MCD concentration required for extraction is protein specific. ⺠Low MCD concentration yields rhodopsin kinase; high MCD concentration yields PDE6. ⺠PDE6 could be purified to homogeneity using single column chromatography. ⺠MCD is useful compound to solubilize and purify prenylated enzymes from membrane.
