Abstract
► Methyl-β-cyclodextrin (MCD) extracts prenylated enzymes from retinal disc membranes. ► MCD concentration required for extraction is protein specific. ► Low MCD concentration yields rhodopsin kinase; high MCD concentration yields PDE6. ► PDE6 could be purified to homogeneity using single column chromatography. ► MCD is useful compound to solubilize and purify prenylated enzymes from membrane.
