Abstract
► Decanoyl ghrelin (D-Ghr) is a ghrelin peptide modified with a n-decanoic acid. ► A considerable amount of D-Ghr was detected in human plasma by our D-Ghr RIA. ► Plasma D-Ghr exhibited a different kinetics from that of octanoyl ghrelin after meal. ► The ratio of plasma D-Ghr to total ghrelin was high in the subject with higher BMI. ► These dynamics of D-Ghr might account for the deregulation of appetite in obesity.
