Abstract
⺠Decanoyl ghrelin (D-Ghr) is a ghrelin peptide modified with a n-decanoic acid. ⺠A considerable amount of D-Ghr was detected in human plasma by our D-Ghr RIA. ⺠Plasma D-Ghr exhibited a different kinetics from that of octanoyl ghrelin after meal. ⺠The ratio of plasma D-Ghr to total ghrelin was high in the subject with higher BMI. ⺠These dynamics of D-Ghr might account for the deregulation of appetite in obesity.
