Abstract
► We investigated hydroxylation of progesterone by R. pusillus and A. griseolla. ► Both fungi hydroxylated progesterone at different positions such as 6,7,11 and 14. ► A. griseolla produced 6β,14α- and 7α,14α-dihydroxyprogesterone. ► R. pusillus produced 6β,11α-dihydroxyprogesterone with excellent yield.
