Abstract
Beginning in the 1990s, clinical pharmacy has greatly contributed to the development of hospital pharmacy practice in North America. Clinical pharmacy was implemented at CHU Sainte-Justine to promote rational and appropriate use of drug therapy. The department of obstetrics-gynecology, supported notably by the creation of a pharmaceutical Chair, has benefited from the services of a clinical pharmacist since 1998. We present, through a case report of pregnant woman treated with azathioprine for lupus erythematosus, pharmaceutical interventions by the clinical pharmacist on the obstetrics and gynaecology ward as part of his interactions with patients, physicians and other healthcare professionals.
