Abstract
Increasing number of pharmacy units are centralizing the preparation of cytotoxics. Their elaboration is confirmed by a final step of release, which involves the responsibility of the pharmacist. Although less efficient to evaluate the accuracy of prepared quantities, the weight control could be an alternative to spectral and chromatographic methods. Straight forward, non destructive testing and easy to integrate in a production line, it can be done before the dispensation step and can reveal big errors of quantity preparations. Our study proposes a weight method, its pros and cons and the conclusion draw from our experience.
