Abstract
Home artificial nutrition allows a social life to the patient. Enteral and parenteral nutritions can be practiced at home. Several alternatives exist to be treated by home nutritional therapy: home hospitalization, home care or labelled center for parenteral nutrition. Specialist physicians can prescribe. But experts in nutrition are not obligatory. General practicioners can sometimes prescribe, preferentially with a professional in nutrition in order to avoid serious side effects (in particular in case of home parenteral nutrition) including possibly mortality. Pharmacists, nurses, health care private societies can take part in organization. The cooperation between the different health care professionals is needed to improve nutritional support.
