Abstract
Development of pharmacovigilance activity is one of the prime aims of Cholet hospital's pharmacy. It implies to be in accordance with the regulations and to follow our own process for risks managing within our hospital. It has set up effectively since September 2002. The different steps of the project were validated by both the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee and by the Establishment's Medical Committee. The action plan included particularly to create a new local grade for pharmacovigilance within the pharmacy, to set up an actual information and training policy, and to propose assistance for reporting. Two years later, 47 spontaneous declarations were reported by the local representative of pharmacovigilance. Seventy two percent of them were serious cases. The average hospitalisation duration was sixteen days. Thirty percent (30%) of these declarations came from Hepato-Gastro-Enterology department in wich a clinical pharmacy activity has been developped. However, prospects of improvments were noticed such as a declarations increase within the emergency's department.
