Abstract
⺠A non-destructive technique for sampling microbial communities on stone was tested. ⺠The technique utilised sterile adhesive tape. ⺠Sterile tape provided samples suitable for molecular analysis. ⺠Tape sampling is particularly suited to sampling microbial biofilms. ⺠Tape sampling has many advantages over destructive techniques.
