Abstract
⺠We compared sequence- and fragment-based characterizations of microbial eukaryotes. ⺠Sequence information provided taxonomic context for the T-RFLP method. ⺠Fragments generally represented dominant sequence-based operational taxonomic units. ⺠T-RFLP was useful for the rapid analysis and comparison of microbial eukaryotes.
