Abstract
⺠Primers for Gram-negative bacteria harboring alanine aminopeptidase (pepN) were developed. ⺠Diversity of pepN in soil is closely linked to potential transformation rates of alanine. ⺠Climate change influences diversity of pepN in different soils.
