Abstract
⺠Genecopy number estimates are significantly improved using a relative method. ⺠Relative estimation highlights low estimates of gene copy number inherent with absolute methods. ⺠Use of an artificial spike avoids interference with target amplicons. ⺠Control for inhibition and/or extraction efficiency allows simple comparison between soil types.
