Abstract
⺠Gold nanoparticles coupled to transferrin could be imaged by confocal microscopy. ⺠The gold biomarker accumulated in endocytic organelles of Trypanosoma cruzi. ⺠Intracellular gold labeling was evident at the cytopharynx and the reservosomes. ⺠Intracellular gold clusters could be seen by reflection or photoluminescence modes.
