Abstract
► BHI + 10% human plasma medium was developed for growing S. aureus biofilm in vitro. ► S. aureus forms robust biofilm in 6 h or less in a microfluidic system with this medium. ► Viability of S. aureus biofilm cells in static well plates is greatly enhanced with this medium. ► Human plasma is essential for growing S. aureus biofilms under static and flow conditions.
