Abstract
⺠We suggested B. cenocepacia was recognized as good candidate for the air pouch study. ⺠C14:0 3-OH FA and endotoxin unit levels can be used as surrogates for LPS concentration. ⺠Both surrogates were correlated in a dose-dependent manner in air pouch samples. ⺠Both surrogates had different effects on NO and TNF-α production by the cells. ⺠C14:0 3-OH FA, rather than endotoxin unit, acted as a stimulatory indicator for LPS.
